Anyone employed by Awarding Care is fully checked back to the day they left school, including reference checks for all employment. We investigate gaps in employment and double check all information given using all available resources.
In addition to all our own process checks, all our staff will also have an Enhanced DBS Check (often referred to as a Police check). An enhanced DBS check is required for anyone involved within Regulated Activities, i.e. working with or having contact with vulnerable adults. Not only does this cover the Police record check but we also carry out further checks on other records such as the Adult Barred List.
Upon commencing employment with us, all our staff must either have an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, if they are just starting their career in the care sector, we enrol them onto the relevant qualifications and they are personally mentored to ensure they complete this within a fixed period of time. We also offer further training such as the Care Certificate and higher levels of NVQ’s.
For specialist care, we also have a large number of the care team trained in other areas to suit the specific needs of our customers.

Established since 2015, Awarding Care have a passion for providing quality care to a high standard to the local community. Being awarded various contracts by local authorities, the company now employs over 100 care staff and has achieved an “Outstanding” grade for being Well-Led by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
